SPECIAL CONNECTIONS ACCOMPANIED TOUR TO LONDON

London offers a huge choice of excursions. We have suggested one approach as an example, while appreciating that party leaders will have their own aims. We are receptive to the requirements of Party Leaders and all our itineraries are tailor made.

In particular, some groups seek themes for their visit, for example:
London in Tudor times
London during the Second World War
London and the Medical Pioneers
London in the reign of Queen Victoria

Also, though this is an example of a tour to London by coach, many groups travel from northern England, Scotland and Wales by air or by rail.
In this case we are able to take full advantage of the Underground system to travel round the capital swiftly.

ACCOMMODATION

We use a variety of two and three star hotels selected for their security and for their situation within easy reach of our excursions.

EXAMPLE OF A THREE DAY TOUR TO LONDON BY COACH

DAY 1
Meet coach at school and transfer to London.
Fully guided visit of The Tower of London. Including The Bloody Tower, The Beauchamp Tower (where prisoners etched their last messages on the walls) and the Jewel House. Pupils will view England's Crown Jewels, the Beefeaters and the Ravens of the Tower.

DAY 2
One of the best ways to see the sites of London is from the water and during the morning we will enjoy an introductory cruise.

On our return we plan a guided coach tour that will include:
• Buckingham Palace to view the Changing of the Guard.
• After lunch in nearby St James's Park we will transfer to Westminster Abbey for a guided tour of this cathedral of worldwide repute. Pupils will see the tombs of Edward the Confessor and Edward III, the Coronation Chair and many of the priceless treasures with which the abbey is crammed.
• The Houses of Parliament, where it can sometimes be arranged for groups to visit the Strangers' Public Gallery.
• After viewing Big Ben we will pass 10 Downing Street on the way to Trafalgar Square.
• Our final afternoon excursion will be to Covent Garden to enjoy the many street entertainers and artists at work, as well as the ancient market.

Evening: Flight on ‘The London Eye.’

DAY 3
When deciding on a visit for our last morning in London, we are spoilt for choice. Here are some of the most popular visits:
Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum to see the collage of exhibitions and stage settings as well as the Chamber of Horrors and the new 'Super Stars' gallery.
The Cutty Sark which carried tea from China and wool from Australia before it was outpaced by the steamers.
The London Aquarium. With its spectacular display of all types of fish and marine life, a visit which has become particularly popular.
The London Dungeon. Offering the more bizarre and gruesome aspects of our history.
The Tower of London.

Alternatively some groups, according to the location of their schools like to include a visit en-route.
This brings such sites as Chessington World of Adventure, the Windsor Safari Park, Hampton Court etc. into consideration.

Departing London, we shall then return to school for the early evening.

Please note
Why not include a theatre or cinema visit on one of the evenings. ? We can make groups bookings on your behalf at exceptionally good prices. Just ask.
