Our Catering Service

We Know That Good Food is Important to the Success of Our Tours

En route
We ask participants to provide a packed lunch for the outward journey and we will have a hot restaurant meal in the evening. A picnic meal is provided for the return journey and this is the last meal provided by Special Connections.

Breakfast
A continental breakfast of croissants, bread, butter, jam, coffee, tea and hot chocolate is served, either in the main or the group dining room.

Lunch
At lunch time we provide a particularly good picnic meal. At breakfast time the hotel staff lay out a variety of meats, cheeses and salads. The pupils themselves choose what they want in their baguettes and can help to make them up. In this way they enjoy a worthwhile degree of independence and choice. We avoid the usual “sandwiches, fruit and a biscuit.” Participants can expect an ever changing choice but the menu described below is typical: Fresh bread - (petit pain or baguettes) Cheese - (a selection of Camembert, Vache qui Rit, Roquefort etc) Meat - (Ham, Salami, Frankfurter sausages, Pate, Pate en croute) Fish - (Smoked salmon) Salad - (Lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber) Pickles, crisps, cakes, fruit. Fruit juice and mineral water.

Supper
Suppers vary according to the location of your tour. As an example, in France meals are taken in the excellent Flunch Cafeteria Self Service Restaurants. The tour director will be on hand to help pupils with their choices. There is a wide choice of starters., then a choice of hot main courses will be available. Desserts are always popular, for example: ice cream, mousses, fruit tarts. eclairs, flan aux oeufs, diplomat peche melba, tarte aux fraises, tarte aux cerises. There is iced water available, but fizzy drinks are not included.

We are able to cater for most special diets.

We also like to include meals in pleasant local restaurants.

For example:

Paris:
Chez Eugine
Our restaurant is situated in the heart of Montmartre in Paris and overlooks the famous Place du Tertre.

The Solidad Restaurant
This is situated in the lively South Bank, near the Sorbonne University.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from, but this offers superb three course meals at a reasonable price.

Disneyland Paris:
Annette’s Diner
A bit expensive perhaps, but the food is great and the waiters and waitresses put on a dance show to ‘Greased Lightning.’ The students love it. So do the teachers!

We would very much like you to browse through our information and if you do not see exactly what you seek, to let us know. We run tours all over Europe. Giving an example of just one country – in France we run tours to Paris, Normandy, Brittany, Poitiers, Carcasonne, Toulouse, Aix -en-Provence and for good measure, for our Language Tours, we even cross over into Switzerland and run tours in Montreux by Lake Geneva and Villars in the Swiss Alps. So, if you have an idea in mind, just let us know and we will produce a suggested itinerary, with hotel, catering etc. included within two working days.
